Hannah Pins research assistant Hannah Pins is a Communication Studies major with a minor in UX/HCI. Currently, Hannah is actively involved in research projects that examine the influence of social media on family communication and human-machine communication in healthcare. Additionally, she is interested in the augmentation of social and romantic relationship development through human communication with AI applications, such as Replika. |
Katie Stallard Social Media Katie Stallard is an undergraduate student at Western Michigan University studying Strategic Communications: Diversity & Inclusion. They enjoy learning and writing about various topics within communications research and are interested in the influence that AI and human-machine communication has on the communication development of different demographics of individuals. |
Mary Smithnosky Social Media Mary Smithnosky is a third year at Western Michigan University majoring in Climate Sciences and minoring in Communications. Mary plans on using her degree to pursue a career in meteorology or climatology. Before having to medically retire, Mary was a member of the WMU softball team and was one of the few players named “NFCA scholar athlete” by the university in 2022. Mary has also made Dean’s List 3 out of her 5 semesters at Western Michigan and is on track to graduate in the Spring of 2025. |
