Pepper

NAO

We are very proud to have two of Softbank's Pepper Robots in the labs (WMU and UCONN) Pepper stands about 4 feet tall and weighs 62 pounds. Pepper is used in complex human-robot interaction studies.

The NAO robot developed by Aldebaran Robotics and now Softbank Robotics. This programmable humanoid robot can be utlized in more complex applications.  

Beam+

We have Beam+ robots at the WMU, UCF, and UCONN labs. These telepresence robots drive smoothly and are robust enough to travel over a variety of indoor surfaces. The Beam features high quality video and a user-friendly desktop interface.

Robot Pets

We use Ageless Innovation robot pets for studies of human-robot interaction. We have 25 cats and dogs.

Double

"Double is the ultimate tool for telecommuting. From anywhere in the world, you have a physical presence in the office and can speak to co-workers at anytime. Double is a remotely controlled, mobile teleconferencing system, enabling conversations to happen anywhere and anytime."

​JD Humanoid Robot

JD is a humanoid robot built from 3D printing. The head contains a camera for tracking (color, QR codes, and faces). Each eye has 9 LEDs for expressions. We used this little bot for experimental purposes when a humanoid is needed. JD is made by ez-robot.com 


MantaroBot Robots

TelePresence Robot is a mobile offsite-conferencing platform that is plugged into Skype™ and allows a user to remotely interact with and observe people and their environment. Provided they have an Internet connection, any user can access the MantaroBot TelePresence Robot."  Both the WMU and UCF labs used this robot in the first year of the labs.
